Art in Every Life

Budgeting for Art

My two most cherished paintings cost nothing. They are a tempera butterfly and an ‘abstract'; the first by my youngest son and the second by my oldest. They were in nursery school or kindergarten when these came home. Each is framed and I revere them because they are guileless – expressions of budding personalities that have continued to expand into young adulthood. Their creation is now in music, but their natures are still expressed by the butterfly and the abstract.

In his later years, Picasso was asked to do a commission for a friend. When he offered the finished painting it was a simplistic line drawing. Like Matisse, very little saying very much. The story goes that the friend was offended that the great artist gave him something so minimal. When queried, Picasso said that it took him ninety years to learn to paint like a child. His famous quote is, “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”

Like music, and the touch of one who loves you, expressive art and simple beauty complete our daily existence and make life worthwhile.

As we age we get into our head. We live in a society that reveres intellectualism. But what of the soul? The nature of us beyond the intellectual?  The part of us that longs for completion but only knows longing? Like music, and the touch of one who loves you, expressive art and simple beauty complete our daily existence and make life worthwhile. An artist who paints from the heart offers up a story for the eyes only of one who sees it. When you connect with a piece of art you will soon know that the considerations of cost and placement pale to the necessity of personal experience. Can you afford not to feed your soul?

Every artist reveres a true patron and it is for this reason that we wish to assist those who love art to afford it. Ask about our lease to own options. In the meantime, browse the gallery and see what these fabulous paintings look like in a real home.
